Bush calls Mary Cheney a "loving soul;" also admits to pill popping on occasion

According to an ABC News blog, George and Laura Bush sat down last week for their annual interview with People Magazine. While a number of issues were discussed, I found Bush's comments on the pregnancy of Mary Cheney (Dick Cheney's homosexual daughter) to be most interesting:

Responding to a question about his 2005 comment that "a child is raised in a married family with a man and a woman", the President said that the Vice President's openly gay daughter is going to be "a loving soul to her child".

“The Vice President took me aside and gave me the good news. He and his wife, Lynne, are very happy for Mary,” Bush said. “I think Mary is going to be a loving soul to her child. And I'm happy for her.”

A loving "soul," eh? That's certainly interesting terminology. Excellent job dodging the question as well.

Among other topics were Condoleezza Rice, who Laura Bush said was "a good candidate, but not interested," Bush's "post-presidency" plans, and the fact that Bush sleeps better than he used to, but still pops an "Elvis" on occasion.
