Bush administration already planning to fail when it comes to troop escalation

When it comes to George Bush's "troop escalation" plan, the administration is already planning for failure, and already going on the defensive saying "this is not the last chance" for the U.S. in Iraq.

Defense Sec. Robert Gates went before the Armed Services Committee today, and actually had the nerve to claim that troops in Iraq might start to come home before the end of the year, if of course, violence is tamed and there are "political reconciliations" in the country. Hmm, that may be difficult to do considering the Iraqi's are electing terrorists to their Parliament.

Via the Associated Press:

Gates told lawmakers the current buildup of forces by 21,500 troops is "not the last chance" to succeed in Iraq and conceded that he's considering what steps to take if it doesn't work.

"I would be irresponsible if I weren't thinking about what the alternatives might be," Gates told the Senate Armed Services Committee.

All I can say is, they may as well be planning for failure when it comes to the so called troop escalation, they know it's complete nonsense just as well as you or I.
