Jim Webb proposes real action to stop Bush's rape of the Federal coffers

For those of us who have had enough with the Democrats (and Republicans for that matter) in Congress who simply refuse to do anything but propose, debate, and pass do nothing, "non-binding" resolutions on Iraq, and essentially ignoring what appears to be a Bush buildup to war with Iran -- Jim Webb is our man. Fed up with the Bush administration's unchecked rape of the Federal coffers, Jim Webb asked Congress to use the power of the purse to bar a war with Iran without Congress' approval.

The freshman Virginia Democrat introduced a bill to block funding for military operations in Iran unless the president gets congressional authority for it.

Webb's bill would set several exceptions, including the use of U.S. forces to repel an attack from inside Iran or to thwart an imminent attack; and in the "hot pursuit" of forces that enter into Iran.

"This bill basically says the executive branch -- this presidency has shot from the hip too many times for us to be able to trust it to act on its own," Webb told reporters after introducing the bill.

Jim Webb proves once again that he will be a Senator that not only Virginians, but this whole country can be damn proud of. Your welcome, America.
