Also, why is it that the term “progressive” has been made synonymous with the word “liberal”? I guess that’s also another way of guilt-tripping conservatives - guilt-trip them for their apparent lack of forward movement. Tradition and simplicity have no place in a “progressive” society.

First off, YES stating a racial preference for your roommate DOES (at least in my book) make you a racist. Second, What I want to know is what the hell is it with Conservatives tripping themselves up lately? That Capitol Hill staffer could have easily avoided this entire thing had he been intelligent/experienced enough to know when you work in politics you DON'T send out emails to random people stating your name, what you do for a living, and RACIAL PREFERENCES when it comes to roommates.

Regardless, I guess "tradition and simplicity" also means only wanting to associate with people exactly like yourself now, huh?
