Virginia blog rankings according to Google
Here's a list of many Virginia blogs, and how they stack up on Google. A ranking of 0 meaning the blog is irrelevant, and ten being most important. No blogs in Virginia that I could find fell on either of those two categories. The highest scoring blog was Craig's Musings with a six, and the lowest score was a three, which was held by a couple of blogs. Here is the complete list, in no particular order:

That's weird. How do the rankings work? I don't know how I got the highest ranking.
There are apparently hundreds of factors, but from everything I've read, a lot of it has to do with who's linking to you. If I'm getting links from websites Google has "blacklisted" from it's rankings, then my rating will go down. If I'm getting links from say, AmericaBlog, CNN.com, DailyKos, etc. my rating might go up. Another factor is the length of time your site has been active.
Hi - what constitutes a VA blog? There's many, many more blogs around VA that have pretty good pagerankings in Google, and are on Blogger (which Google owns), which aren't in this list.
Obviously I couldn't get to EVERY single blog published by a Virginian. This list only includes political blogs, and I mainly pulled them from the NLS, Raising Kaine, and my own blog rolls. Sorry if I didn't get to yours. :)
