Ron Paul drops out?

Sounds like it to me. Anyone think he might run as an independent? I mean let's be honest, he never really had a chance to win the Republican nomination, but he does have a fairly large (and slightly retarded) following, who have demonstrated their support with several "money bombs" breaking daily fundraising records for political candidates. Regardless, here's a letter sent via email to Ron Paul supporters:

Whoa! What a year this has been. And what achievements we have had. If I may quote Trotsky of all people, this Revolution is permanent. It will not end at the Republican convention. It will not end in November. It will not end until we have won the great battle on which we have embarked. Not because of me, but because of you. Millions of Americans — and friends in many other countries — have dedicated themselves to the principles of liberty: to free enterprise, limited government, sound money, no income tax, and peace. We will not falter so long as there is one restriction on our persons, our property, our civil liberties. How much I owe you. I can never possibly repay your generous donations, hard work, whole-hearted dedication and love of freedom. How blessed I am to be associated with you. Carol, of course, sends her love as well.

Let me tell you my thoughts. With Romney gone, the chances of a brokered convention are nearly zero. But that does not affect my determination to fight on, in every caucus and primary remaining, and at the convention for our ideas, with just as many delegates as I can get. But with so many primaries and caucuses now over, we do not now need so big a national campaign staff, and so I am making it leaner and tighter. Of course, I am committed to fighting for our ideas within the Republican party, so there will be no third party run. I do not denigrate third parties — just the opposite, and I have long worked to remove the ballot-access restrictions on them. But I am a Republican, and I will remain a Republican.

I also have another priority. I have constituents in my home district that I must serve. I cannot and will not let them down. And I have another battle I must face here as well. If I were to lose the primary for my congressional seat, all our opponents would react with glee, and pretend it was a rejection of our ideas. I cannot and will not let that happen.

In the presidential race and the congressional race, I need your support, as always. And I have plans to continue fighting for our ideas in politics and education that I will share with you when I can, for I will need you at my side. In the meantime, onward and upward! The neocons, the warmongers, the socialists, the advocates of inflation will be hearing much from you and me.

Sincerely,

Ron

He hasn't dropped out. What are you talking about??????

It sure sounds like he's dropping out (or at least admitting defeat) to me.

Are you living in a box go back to watching fox news with all the other cows ron is going all the way to the convention get your finger on the pulse and quit paying attention to the MSM.

Terry Carter said...

I knew it wouldn't take long before the Paultards shows up after running google searches for blogs talking about their candidate (and judging by your hit on my sitemeter, that's exactly what you did). This is why (or at least partly why) no one supports you all in your retarded attempt to get a lunatic elected to the white house. Because you make rash and stupid statements like "go back to watching Fox news" when, if you read my blog regularly and weren't some random visitor via google blog search, you would know that I'm FAR FROM a Fox news viewer or supporter.

Maybe Ron Paul supporters would not be so hostile towards you if you did not call them "retards" and "paultards". Frankly making comments and generalizations like that is downright ignorant.

Terry Carter said...

Sorry but your HILARIOUSLY entertaining internet campaign (consisting of some fantasy "march" on World of Warcraft, trolling message boards and spamming the hell out of polls on "who won this debate?") to try and get a LUNATIC elected to the White House is the only thing "downright ignorant" here.

It's really sad that the likes of Terry Carter do not and possibly will never get it.

Read a little. Look around you. Do you think we are in a good place right now? Do you think that we as a country can just keep doing what we have been? As much as I like Obama, I don't believe he will take measures drastic-enough to make a dent.

We are heading downhill and fast. Ron Paul could have been the bitter pill we needed.

I think at this point Obama is the most likely to win. I just hope he doesn't get washed away by the system the way others have. Ron Paul has already proven he is system-effect-proof.

I am sad for you. I am sad for myself. I am really sad for this country. It will be difficult to get out of the hole we dug ourselves into.

Posting false announcements "for the fun of it" is juvenile and frankly sad a little. It doesn't make you one to respect or be taken seriously...

You are an idiot who can't read.

Hey, look, this guy's from DC! Probably works in and/or around the federal bureaucracy Paul wants to partially dismantle!

That's why he feels Paul is a LUNATIC, he doesn't understand how a nation could possibly run without all those nice bureaucrats like him, rubberstamping paper they barely/never read!

Tell ya something, bub. You, and people like you, have managed to sandbag Paul, but the people are onto you, and as more and more people realize the MSM is outright deceiving them, the worse your tactical position shall become.

Paul hasn't dropped out of the race. You are mistaken.

The only reason that some bloggers make false posts like the one here declaring Ron Paul is withdrawing, is to get their hit count increased on their site.

Paulistinians should note the few pieces of crap among the blogger community who are resorting to this tactic and publish a banned blogger list on the Paulistinian websites and in meet-up groups.

Stop visiting sites such as this one where the guy is obviously lying and just baiting the Paulistinians in order to boost his readership.

As of today, The Colette is banned as far as I am concerned. I won't visit here or post here again, and neither should anyone else who hopes for a blogosphere where truth is presented to the People.

When the revolution comes, the Colette/blogger will be one of those bodies hanging from the court house tree, so don't associate with him and don't blog on his site or help enable his lying.

Oh this is hilarious.

Also, Anonymous, I've reported your IP address along with your comment to your ISP. Making threats is sad and pathetic, and typical of Ron Paul supporters.

Paul W. said...

Anonymous you do realize that you just made a comment that made you look increasingly "retarded" and is probably why terry carter is lying, so she can feed off the anger from people like you. The fact that you just implied that you would "hang" Collete, is making you look insane, and if you truly do mean that, you have gone off the deep end. If I were you, I would look back into what Ron Paul says and teaches, that is not what he is about, and I frankly am disappointed in you for a comment like that.

World peace through nonviolent means is neither absurd nor unattainable. All other methods have failed. Thus we must begin anew. Nonviolence is a good starting point. Those of us who believe in this method can be voices of reason, sanity, and understanding amid the voices of violence, hatred, and emotion. We can very well set a mood of peace out of which a system of peace can be built.

First of all Ron Paul is no lunatic, the lunatics are Hillary Clinton, and Mr 100 years in Iraq, John McCain. I don't know what is so lunatic about following our constitution, trying to help our country not collapse economically, whats so wrong with letting us keep our money, no income tax, bringing our troops home from insane wars. Look at our National Debt, our children have to life with this. Ron Paul Supporters are not fringe lunatics, all the people I know that support Ron Paul, love this country, serve in our military, work hard, and just want our country back from the corrupt powers that be, what a crazy dream huh? Actually going back to our roots. I wonder would people be calling George Washington a lunatic, if he was running, would George Washington be ignored by the Press, sadly I think he would. I respect all opinions, good or bad about Dr Paul, but to call him a lunatic, thats absurd.

Fuck off you brainwashed moron.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Freedom Fighter.

Fuck off.

Lunatic? WTF???

A man who wants to end the war, restore sound money, follow the Constituion, and reduce the size of our over-bearing, liberty-stealing, government....

that's a lunatic????

You sir... are a moron.

And you are a moron who can't read. You posted this to say that he's "dropping out" and nowhere in that letter does it say that.

Are you too stupid to read?

I don't normally like to attack people personally in blogs... but you started it... RETARD.

You guys do realize that I'm just republishing your posts to use as fodder against you and to further prove my point? Right? Or are you not even bothering to look before you keep posting....

What's funny is that the Ron Paul Zealots think we're the brainwashed ones, they thing WE'RE the ones that need help.

I will NEVER vote for someone who can't think rationally enough to believe in Evolution.

It turned out to be a dud.

Hmm...what part of
"But that does not affect my determination to fight on, in every caucus and primary remaining, and at the convention for our ideas, with just as many delegates as I can get."
would make anyone think that Ron Paul has dropped out of the race? I understand your frustration with Ron Paul and the "lunatics" that support him. It is unnerving when someone challenges the assumptions that this country has been running on since Sept. 11, 2001. Namely that we can police the world and outflank the scourge of Islamofascist terrorists, no matter the cost. That we can continue to run this country in a "business as usual" manner, despite our mounting debts. That we must support the president to be patriotic, no matter how many liberties we are asked to sacrifice. That the current American political system, with all the lobbyist, PAC's, and corporate campaign contributions, truly represents the will of the people. And that the mainstream news outlets give us a truthful, and objective view of reality. McCain would agree with that. So would Hillary.
It's unsettling when someone presents ideas that we don't want to hear (i.e. this country's has some deeply ingrained problems) and challenges us to think critically for ourselves. My advice is to wake up and take good look at the current state of affairs. Think for yourself after you have facts, not the closeminded, "patriotic" opinions of pundits and bloggers.
This is what Paul offers - facts. His ideas and policies are well thought out and based on facts, and even more fundamentally on the U.S. Constitution. When he speaks, he doesn't give the usual runaround of most politicians, using vague promises and circular logic. He's direct, to the point, and he actually believes what he says. And the people support him. Millions of people, all around the world. What you see as lunacy is true passion for a candidate the likes of which this country has not seen in some time. Of course people are excited. Someone with integrity and honesty is actually willing to fix many of the problems in this country, instead of trying to scare and distract the populace with red herrings (the War on Communism, the War on Drugs, the War on Terror). I understand why you see these people as crazy. You are cynical. Who wouldn't be cynical about politics after the last 30 years? It's easy to be cynical. It's easy to listen to what the newsperson or the president tells you and assume it's true. But we can't go on like this forever. Open your heart, open your eyes, and wake up.

Because I know politics, and I know candidates don't say things like that unless they're a) ignorant or b) getting ready to drop out.

george bush is a great president

Anonymous said...

wow terry you really are a hateful, immature person. But thats OK, you're probably voting for Billary lol, good luck with that.

I agree with californian, RP was the bitter pill that this country needed to wake up. Instead, we are forced to choose from a "republican" puppet and two socialists, whose views have no place in this Republic.

I love your last comment, about how you know politics. Thats funny. Both your A and B choices are wrong, and if you actually have heard RP talk, you'd have known what was gonna happen. Right from the start he said if he didn't get the republican nomination he wouldn't run as an independent. He knew it, all his supporters knew it. That choice is called being smart, but thats probably way above you. Without the nomination, it is a waste of money to run, and he said himself that his money is better spent helping his constituents.

So, grow up and stop attacking people with insults, you lack maturity and it shows when you call names and poke fun at other's beliefs.

Oh yea and "underpants", you'd have to be a complete sheep to believe you came from a monkey. That kind of evolution was never proven, and to this day remains only a theory. The only evolution that has been documented and proven is microevolution, look it up. Then wake up. Or don't, your choice.

Incredible. Over a week since I posted this and you all continue to flock here to make fools of yourselves. Further proving the point that Ron Paul and his supporters are completely batshit crazy. Carry on, this is hilarious....

Terry Carter,
You insult the character of a man who believes in the constitution, who served as a flight doctor in the military, who has been elected to Congress 10 times, who has delivered over 4000 babies, who is more schooled in economics and history than all the of the other members of Congress combined, Who has been married to the same women for over 30 years and who refuses to bow to the pressures of lobbyists and special interests AND in addition you insult his supporters, post inaccurate information and then you wonder why everyone thinks you're an idiot?

Continuously using the words HILARIOUS to describe Ron Paul's campaign and insulting the whole movement does not conceal the true nature of your posts.
You are wholly ignorant of the constitution, What a republic is and the state of the union.

If you knew any better you would be embarrassed to type another word.

Paultards you call us? i don't know what it is people like you think you are going to achieve by constantly bashing on Paul supporters with comments like that, ok go ahead, call us Paultards, but the reality of the matter is that there is a lot of us "Paultards" out there who support him, more then you can imagine, and thats why we are attacked so often, because we are seen as a threat! if we didn't really count like FOX NEWS and other so called "NEWS NETWORKS" say, the why do people make time out of their every day lives to try and put us down with negative comments, i know Ron wont win, because if people still ruled, things would be a lot different, but we all know people do not get to chose anything any more, we forgot what "of the people, by the people, and for the people" really mean, the government now tells us what to do and how to do it, instead of the other way around. if you give me cat shit in one bowl and dog shit in another and ask me which one i want... how is that even a choice?

Considering the others that are running on both sides Ron Paul would be a Breath of fresh Air.

Anonymous said...

That's ok. Terry Carter is obviously a socialist. Terry, try not to scream when they march you off to the ovens. ;)

Ron Paul may not be perfect, but I think he's the closest thing to what this country needs. I'm glad that all the candidates seem to be more interested in what's happening in this country rather than basing their campaigns on what's happening in others.

Last election was a joke, the only issue any one voted on was the war, if you were anti war it was kerry, if you were pro it was bush and there was little to no concern for any of their other crazed policies, I believe that was a lose, lose situation.

This election seems to be win (obama), win to a lesser extent (hillary), and i suppose win, if you consider ron paul as a prospective candidate (I think he has more of a chance than nader did).

Where do the majority of people see problems? in our own government. Now look where the focus of our leader has been for the past 8 years, everywhere BUT our own government.

I guess what I'm trying to say, is that I want the person who is going to do their best to keep the country as stable as possible, and from what I've seen Ron Paul has the best policy to policy views to do just that.

writer of this article, you are entitled to your opinion, but you need to remember that that is all it is. I don't know what (dc) is, but for all I know you could be some 14 year old on his mom's laptop getting ready for bed. The point is, your opinions hold no weight and that's why your posting this on a google blog and not a news site such as fox news, which makes me think that is why you are "FAR FROM a Fox news viewer or supporter." I hope this pissed you off as much as you calling me retarded for who I choose to support did. Have a great day.
