One pompous asshat endorsing another

Nothing to see here. Just one asshat endorsing another. Money man, and dog hater Mitt Romney picks up the endorsement of someone most in the nation don't really give a flying fuck about, fat man Bill Bolling.

Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling will endorse Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney today.

Bolling also will be chairman of the former Massachusetts governor's Virginia campaign.

The endorsement was to take place at a news conference at the Omni Hotel here. Romney is visiting Richmond and Hampton Roads to raise money for his presidential campaign.

In a news release prepared in advance of the endorsement, Bolling said, "We can trust him [Romney] to keep America safe at home by defeating the Jihadists abroad; and keep America strong by reining in government spending, keeping taxes low, protecting the values we believe in and confronting head-on the new generation of challenges facing our nation."

Don't Republicans ever get tired of the same old talking points that no one believes anymore? Apparently not.

ROLL CALL: Hatemonger Jerry Falwell's funeral

Presidential hopefuls Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and Jim Gilmore have already said they won't be attending the funeral for the Reverend bigot Jerry Falwell. However, Virginia's very own 'hate agenda' supporters Bob McDonnell, and Bill Bolling will be in attendance, surprise surprise.

U.S. Sen. John McCain isn't planning to attend the Rev. Jerry Falwell's funeral Tuesday. Rival Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani can't make it, either.

Nor can former Virginia former governor and long-shot 2008 Republican presidential candidate Jim Gilmore.

While some Republican figures will attend next week's funeral in Lynchburg for the founder of the Moral Majority, many will not. Experts say that even with a presidential election looming, it's not a must-attend event — and there likely won't be political consequences for skipping it.

"This funeral will be very much more about the people who were influenced by him and his ministry," said Merle Black, political science professor at Emory University in Atlanta.

Even among Republicans without White House aims, there are commitments that can't be broken. U.S. Sen. John W. Warner has critical votes in Washington on Tuesday. Virginia House of Delegates Speaker Bill Howell can't attend.

Virginia's lieutenant governor, Bill Bolling, and Attorney General Bob McDonnell, both Republicans popular among Christian conservatives, will be there.

What I want to know is, will Governor Tim Kaine be there? I would assume not, given the article makes no mention of him. However, I find that to be rather 'interesting' given Kaine's statements regarding Falwell following his death on Tuesday.
