Virgil Goode's Letter

This letter was sent by Congressman Virgil Goode Jr. (R-VA) in response to an e-mail from a constituent regarding the use of a Koran by a newly elected Muslim member of Congress in his swearing in ceremony.

I find this part of the letter to be particularly disturbing:

"The Muslim Representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district and if American citizens don't wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Koran.

We need to stop illegal immigration totally and reduce legal immigration and end the diversity visas policy pushed hard by President Clinton and allowing many persons from the Middle East to come to this country."

Seriously, this guy needs to resign!!!!

UPDATE: Virgil Goode responds.

"I fear that in the next century we will have many more Muslims in the United States if we do not adopt the strict immigra- tion policies that I believe are necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to the United States of America and to prevent our resources from being swamped."

Sorry Virgil, but your beliefs contain nothing of value to anyone, and they're certainly not American at all.

I would like to say that Virgil Goode is an embarrassment to my home state of VA....but with Virginians voting to enshrine Jim Crow into our state constitution....

Bigotry is Bigotry is Bigotry...

i support the congressman because he's the only one that understand the threat. he is not against Muslims being in office, but realizes that if we don't seal our borders, then radical Islam will destroy our country from the inside. it is not illegal mexican immigrants that we must worry about, but also terrorist who want to kill us. is this so hard to understand, or are we too worried about offending other people? this is ridiculous that we are even having this debate. you liberals have got to get over yourselves and realize that the threats of this world aren't President Bush, but radical Islam and terrorism. We should be thankful for Goode because he too understand the threat that we live in.

Name one place in the world where Muslims make up the majority of the population which is a nice place to live.

And, remember, Islam is not a race, it is an ideology. So, to criticize it is the same thing as to criticize any religious or political ideology.

Are you aware that in Saudi Arabia, Sharia is the Constitution? Are you aware that there are no Jews, or Bibles allowed in Saudi Arabia?

That's the most Islamic country.

The country which is held up as the model of Islamic Democracy is Turkey. Were you aware that Mein Kampf and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion have both shot up the bestseller lists there?

The eschatology of the Koran stipulates that in the Last Days the rocks and trees will call out to Muslims, come here, there is a Jew hiding behind me. Come and kill him.

The Koran itself sponsors Jew-hatred. It also doesn't look too kindly on Infidels like you.

That's why terrorists quote it to defend their actions. You know, because they can.

I'm not saying that all Muslims are bad people, because they certainly aren't. What I'm saying is, Islam is as Islam does. And, the evidence it has piled up in support of itself is woeful.

The same argument of a violent religion could EASILY be made against Christians. Not only that, but I like to think that the United States is a little more tolerant than the likes of Saudi Arabia.
