Another U.S. helicopter shot down in Iraq

The fifth U.S. helicopter in less than a month was shot down today killing seven people. This is the fifth helicopter to be shot down since January 20, and the second in five days. The last copter was shot down Friday killing at least two U.S. soldiers.

UPDATE: There are conflicting reports as to why the chopper crashed. Via the AP:

A senior U.S. defense official said the helicopter did not appear to have been hit by hostile fire, but an Iraqi air force officer said it was downed by an anti-aircraft missile and an al-Qaida-linked Sunni group claimed responsibility for the downing.

No word on whether all seven people killed were U.S. servicemembers or not either.
