Republicans continue to attack Pelosi while blocking debate on Iraq
Even after the White House said it doesn't believe Pelosi is getting a fair shake, and even after news reports have dispelled the myths that Nancy Pelosi insisted on a large and "luxurious" military aircraft to fly back and forth from DC and her home district in San Francisco, California, House Republicans still refuse to drop the attacks on the Speaker.
White House Press Secretary Tony Snow said yesterday he believes the attacks are "silly and unfair."
"This is a silly story and I think it's been unfair to the speaker," White House spokesman Tony Snow said at a morning briefing with reporters."We think it's important that the speaker of the House enjoy the same kind of security that we arranged for Speaker Hastert in the wake of September 11th. And like I said, I think that there's been a lot of over-hyped reporting on this," Snow said.
I guess they'd rather debate a non existent issue for days and weeks on end all the while voting to delay debate on Iraq more than they'd rather actually do anything of any substance.
