US plans to attack Iran are underway; Bush planning to leave mess for the next President

A headline for an article in the Guardian today reads "Target Iran: US able to strike in the Spring"

Despite denials, Pentagon plans for a possible attack on nuclear sites are well advanced. US preparations for an air strike against Iran are at an advanced stage, in spite of repeated public denials by the Bush administration, according to informed sources in Washington.

The present military build-up in the Gulf would allow the US to mount an attack by the spring. But the sources said that if there was an attack, it was more likely next year, just before Mr Bush leaves office.

Clearly our votes and our feelings are not enough. Impeaching Vice-President Cheney would be a good next step. If we impeach Bush then Cheney would become President, so it would be best to go one step at a time.

To stop this upcoming war I propose: Impeach Cheney now, right away. Start criminal trials for him and his 'neo-con,' lying warmongers, ASAP. Impeach Bush next, if there is time.

Also now, right away start Recall Elections against Republican Governors if possible.

Continuing action into next year, defeat every one of the 21 Republican US Senators who are up for re-election in 2008 and work for a Democrat to become the next President - whoever wins the Democratic Primary.

I would suggest we do this: we start now to encourage others to do it, we need to spread the word. My goal would not be to just 'defeat' the Republican Party, but to 'destroy the Republican Party.' Then maybe we'll have made the point about our strong disapproval of current White House policies and tactics; make the point now, and make the point for our politicians in the future. "Send them a signal," as they might say.
