Bill Richardson officially joins the race
Bill Richardson became the 322nd 333rd candidate to officially enter the 2008 Presidential race today.
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson vowed to repair the "ravages" of the Bush administration Monday as he formally announced his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.Richardson also wants you to know that he is indeed, half Mexican. How much faith does the media have in Richardson's chances at actually winning? Well, as of 1:45pm this afternoon, MSNBC is covering some stupid car chase in LA, Fox News is reporting on a "missing mom" (go figure), and CNN is discussing gas prices. I've seen no mention of Richardson on any of the three aforementioned networks all afternoon.The former congressman and Cabinet secretary said his track record makes him the right person to lead the country through a pivotal time. He played up his experience to set him apart in the field with some more famous and better-funded rivals.
"Some are rock stars," said Richardson, who represented New Mexico in Congress and served as President Clinton's energy secretary and ambassador to the United Nations. "I am not, but I have a proven record.
