Did News Corp. try to offer Brown and Goldman families 'hush money'?

Okay, until now I had refused to talk about this. To be quite honest I'm beyond fed up with the media covering garbage like this, and other such media frenzy, ratings whoring court cases. However, I ran across an AP article this morning in which Denise Brown claims News Corp (owned by Rupert Murdoch) wanted to buy her families silence for millions of dollars.

According to the article, Brown appeared on NBC's "Today" show Tuesday and said

"They wanted to offer us millions of dollars. Millions of dollars for, like, 'Oh, I'm sorry' money. But they were still going to air the show. We just thought, 'oh my god.' What they're trying to do is trying to keep us quiet, trying to make this like hush money, trying to go around the civil verdict, giving us this money to keep our mouths shut."

Of course, News Corp denies they were trying to offer the families "hush money." News Corp also cancelled the scheduled airing of the special after a large public outcry against it.

Now, can we please shut up about it and get on to more important things?
