Shawn Smith stepping down as Republican Party of Virginia executive director

This is the second time this week a top ranking RPV leader has resigned. The resignation will be effective December 15, 2006. Smith said no one at the RPV asked him to resign, the same thing Kate Obenshain Griffin said when she stepped down as RPV chairwomen 2 days ago.

WRIC Richmond as well as the Richmond Times-Dispatch both have columns.

Anyone else getting ready to jump ship over there?
